Learns simple responsibilities at school; helper at snack time, picking up classroom, etc..

Fine Motor Skills

Works on puzzles of six to eight pieces.

Technology

Enjoys basic, age appropriate computer programs.

Identify written first name, and knows last name.
Introduce awareness of full name, birthday, age, address, and phone number.

Recognize and produce rhymes (Nursery Rhymes).
Identify some letters of the alphabet and develop awareness of written words.
Orally describes pictures and drawings.
Talks in complete sentences.
Learns to listen for a purpose and appreciation of a story.
Develop vocabulary through direct instruction, concrete experiences, reading and listening text read aloud.
Relays relevant information in group discussions.
Can answer a question appropriately.
Expose letter-sound relationships (exposure, not mastery).

Goals and Objectives

Massena Nursery School prides itself on being a place where preschoolers can meet and interact with one another in a structured environment. The main objective of Massena Nursery School is to provide a well-balanced curriculum of learning, exploring and discovering that will address each child's intellectual, social, emotional, creative and physical development while instilling a love of learning through literacy.


Admissions and Enrollment

  • 3 year old program- 3 years old by December 1

  • Pre-K program- 4 years old by December 1

*Children attending Nursery School must be Completely Toilet Trained!*
